Tenets of Faith

1. The Inspired Scriptures

We believe and accept the entire Bible as the infallible Word of God inspired by the Holy Ghost, the only and perfect order of our faith and manner of living to which nothing can be added or taken away, which is the power of God unto salvation to believers (2 Peter 1:21; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17 ; Romans 1:16).

2. The One True God

We believe there is but one living and true God, eternal, with, unlimited power, Creator of all things; and in the one God are three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. (Ephesians 4:6; Matthew 28, 19 ; 1 John 5:7)

3. The Son of God

We believe that the Son of God is the Word made flesh, who assumed the human body through the Virgin Mary, and so is true God and true man, two natures in one person, the divine and human; and therefore is the only Saviour, who in reality suffered death, not only for the primitive transgressions, but also for the actual sins of man. (John 1:14; Luke 1:27-35; 1 Pet. 3:18)

4. Devil and Demons

We believe in the existence of a personal devil, who, with all evil spirits, will be eternally punished in the lake of fire. (Rev. 5:11, 12; Matt. 25:41; Rev. 20:10)

5. The New Birth

We believe that regeneration or the new birth is received only through faith in Christ Jesus; who was delivered up for our trespasses and was raised for our justification. They who are in Christ Jesus (cleansed through His blood) are new creatures, and have Him for wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption (Ro 3:24; 2 Co 5:17; 1 Co 1:30).

6. Water Baptism

We believe in water baptism by single immersion, in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, according to Christ’s commission (Matthew 28:18, 19).

7. The Baptism of the Holy Ghost

We believe in the baptism in the Holy Ghost as an experience received subsequent to salvation, with the sign of speaking in tongues as the Holy Ghost gives utterance (Acts 2; 4; 10:45-47, 19:6).

8. The Lord’s Supper

We believe in the Lord’s Supper; Christ, having taken bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you (Luke 22:19.20; 1 Corinthians 11:24).

9. Sanctification

We believe it is necessary to abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled and from fornication, as decreed by the Holy Ghost in the General Assembly held at Jerusalem according to Acts 15:28, 29; 16:4, 21:26.

10. Healing

We believe that Jesus Christ, Himself, bore all our infirmities, and therefore we obey the following commandment: “is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him” (James 5:14-16).

11. The Second Coming

We believe that the Lord, Himself (before the millennium), "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord" (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Revelation 20:6).

12. Bodily Resurrection

We believe there shall be a bodily resurrection of all dead, just and unjust, "And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal" (Matthew 25:46).

New Beginnings Christian Church began on May 8, 2002 with 30 persons, including children, under the leadership of Rev. Tom Ciccarella. A new hope and vision was birthed as “New Beginnings Christian Church” was formed. The first service began as a picnic gathering. Significantly, a baby dedication was part of that service as the church’s theme: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV) was chosen. Soon a rental facility was found at a community Grange where the church family met for three years. It was during that time that the vision was birthed to build a permanent facility. The church family united together in the vision and raised funds towards purchasing land. In the course of time, another church building became available to rent until the vision became a reality. For two years, the church continued to be faithful until land became available.

In 2004, land was purchased with cash as God supernaturally provided the funds and plans began for the construction of a new facility. NBCC became incorporated in 2004 as New Beginnings Christian Church of Greenville, Inc. On Christmas Eve, December 24, 2006, the first service at the current location, 73 Hamburg Road, Greenville, PA was held.

On May 6, 2007, a dedication service was held with over 200 in attendance. Local pastors, government officials, friends and family joined to celebrate God’s provision. Through sacrificial giving and committed faith, the land was purchased and the vision for a house of worship became a reality. NBCC has always held to the view that “it’s the journey, not the destination.” As Isaac settled in the Promised Land, he dug a well and called it Rehoboth, and stated: “Now the LORD has given us room and we will flourish in the land” Genesis 26:22(NIV). It’s been an interesting and challenging journey. All along the way, God has been faithful.
